FAQ

Common questions about Mailvovo’s email authentication and domain health tools.

What is Mailvovo?

Mailvovo is a collection of email authentication and domain health tools for checking SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI, email headers, reports, and related diagnostics.

Is Mailvovo free?

The current Mailvovo tools are designed for free diagnostic use. If this changes for future features, the relevant page will explain it clearly.

Do I need an account?

No account is required for the current tools.

What data do the tools process?

Different tools process different evidence, such as domain names, DNS records, pasted headers, uploaded report files, or live email test headers. See the Privacy Policy for details.

What is SPF?

SPF is a DNS record that lists which systems are authorized to send mail for a domain's envelope sender.

What is DKIM?

DKIM signs a message with a domain key so receivers can verify message-level authentication evidence.

What is DMARC?

DMARC checks whether SPF or DKIM passes and aligns with the visible From domain, and it can publish a domain policy and reporting address.

Does passing authentication guarantee inbox placement?

No. Passing SPF, DKIM and DMARC does not guarantee inbox placement. Deliverability also depends on reputation, recipient behavior, provider rules, content, and other factors.

How often should I check DNS records?

Check records when adding a new sender, changing DNS, troubleshooting delivery, or reviewing regular domain health. Re-test after DNS propagation.

Can Mailvovo modify my DNS?

No. Mailvovo provides diagnostics and guidance. You must make DNS changes through your DNS provider or email service.

Does Mailvovo send email on my behalf?

No. The Live Email Authentication Test generates a temporary receiving address so you can send a real message from your own provider.

What is the Live Email Authentication Test?

It creates a temporary Mailvovo address, receives one real email, analyzes the message headers, and displays SPF, DKIM, DMARC, ARC, alignment, and routing evidence.
